Active Implants Privacy Statement
Active Implants is responsible for the processing of personal data described in in this privacy statement and has an affirmative commitment to comply with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union to the United States. Active Implants LLC has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it and Active Implants adhere to the Privacy Shield Principles. Active Implants is subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Under certain circumstances, you may invoke binding arbitration for complaints regarding Privacy Shield compliance when other dispute resolution procedures have been exhausted.
In the context of an onward transfer Active Implants has responsibility for the processing of personal information it receives under the Privacy Shield and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. Active Implants shall remain liable under the Principles if its agent processes such personal information in a manner inconsistent with the Principles, unless the organization proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

Active Implants has further committed to use an independent recourse mechanism for Privacy Shield complaints by EU individuals. Because of the medical business nature of our website, our website is not interesting for young people under the age of 16. However, Active Implants cannot check whether young people are visiting our website. Upon request Active Implants will remove any privacy data of young people under 16 who visit our website.
For which purpose and on what basis does Active Implants process personal data?
Active Implants may process your personal data for the following possible purposes:

To ensure the request is being made by you, you need to send a copy of your proof of identity. Proof of identity could be a copy your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Citizen service number (BSN) black. This extra step helps protect your privacy. Active Implants will respond to your request within four business weeks of receiving your proof of identity.

Active Implants takes the protection of your personal data seriously and will use appropriate measures to prevent abuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, and/or unauthorized changes. Active Implants collects all data in a cloud application from a reputable company who have their own privacy conditions. Active Implants believes the measures mentioned herein are adequate and our processes and data are secure.
